New Night Wolf 3D Images

Sorry it's been so long in posting; have had some non-too-fun issues with the footage.  However; the film will be having an overhaul with a fresh sound mix for the next few weeks.

Robby Silcox, the DP, will be muxxing the left and right camera images so there will ultimately be an anaglyph and side-by-side 3D Night Wolf.

Here are some screen captures to get you interested.  Non 3D.

New Project: Night Wolf 3D

Because of the complications with getting 'After Wolf' underway, that film has been put on delay.  However not to fear, Tasmanian will see the light of day.

Shot in Stereoscopic 3D on the Schodl Stereoscopic System (dubbing it after Professor Schodl who built it); 'Night Wolf 3D' marks the first 3D short film for Savannah College of Art and Design.

Though a smaller film, one night shoot, it felt like going through 'After Wolf' again.  Location problems abounded till the last minute but throughout the shoot; threats of thunderstorms in the sky.  Some shots were consolidated/simplified so we could complete our shooting in case rain hit.  Despite this the footage on the monitor looks amazing.  I cannot wait for the left and right images to be merged into 3D.

The film will enter post production this week and be polished during summer.  Hopefully it will start festivals in late Fall or early Winter 2012.  And more importantly, I do hope there are festivals that'll accept a short, student 3D film.

Just to tease here are a pair of Behind the Scenes photographs; Spoiler Alert

Shooting the final scene of the film.  I'm on the bottom left with my DP John 'Robby' Silcox and the rig on the right.

The quintessential director vanity shot with myself and my DP, and of course the wonderful camera rig.

Will be getting footage today or tomorrow and will have the first real image of the film online around that time.

Film Death & Hopeful Resurrection

I'm sad to say that the film as a Senior Thesis is no more.  It came down to a simple equation of No Location = No Film.  We lost our location two days out from shooting and with a finite time to shoot your film in the university setting; it was a perfect storm of film death.

It stings me to no end, I know there were many people who put a lot of hard work towards this project and to have it come to such an inglorious end is painful.

However, if the stars aline and the Cinema Gods are merciful; the film may yet again live.  Though it isn't set in stone, I hope to shoot the film during the summer; sometime early/middle of July.  I'm currently putting out some feelers to potential locations and if there is a positive response; I hope to gather a crew/cast and shoot this film.  It's been banging around in my head since July 2009 and I'm not going to let it die so easily.

Keep an eye out here for more updates; hopefully they'll be good.  Hopefully 'After Wolf' will see the lens of a camera.
